Rose)

Provenance: French noble family
At the occasion of the visit and birthday of tsarina Alexandra
Feodorowna, the eldest daughter of the Prussian king Frederik
William III, a commemoration, entiteled "Zauber der Weißen Rose",
took place in Potsdam. In rememberance of this event, in which all
noble families of Prussia participated, the Berlin goldsmith Johann
George Hossauer created a silver goblet with the escutcheons in
enamel. The design was invented by Karl F. Schinkel. Until 1831
three specimen were manufactured.
