Menelaos, Carrying Patroklos Body from the Battlefield (An episode of the Trojan War)

Black chalk and oil-colour, 250 x 244 mm; the fragment of an old mount (datable around 1850) is attached to right corner, inscribed in brown ink: »by Mortimer«.

The drawing shows a replica of the so-called Pasquino located in the Palazzo Pitti (Florence)
